INTERETNIC TRAIN

It comes out from the morning about at 5 am
Leaving Hope Town station,
yawning to the day

And when it starts to go,
while people sleepy come on board
in every place it stops
it seems to make a full of life

Jack climbs inside in the same old way
And with his black man style starts to clap his hands
Jimmy just beside taps his feet again
Everybody smiles on the Interethnic Train

Next station is Sadness soaked in a frosty fog
The faces show the emptiness of their unmoving thoughts

But when the train arrives
In every face something turns on
It’s like the engine fire
can reach the heart and make it warm

The Italians full of joy speak about some girls
The Kenyans seem to enjoy,
they want to hear that tale
You don’t need the ticket,
you don’t need the fame
Everybody likes the Interethnic Train

Na na na na na na na na
Everybody likes the Interethnic Train

Next station is Fear, there are rumors in town
That say you got to beware of strange people around

but when the train arrives
While people surly look at them
Everyone changes his mind
‘cause the train takes a thousand colored flags

Mexican dreams pass the borderline
The train - like the wind - blows and makes them fly
Carmen’s not in time, the whistle blows her name
Don’t worry, the headlights smile:
the train will wait for her

Na na na na na na na na
Everybody likes the Interethnic Train

You don’t need the ticket,
you don’t need the fame
Red, black and white are just colours names
You don’t need the ticket,
you don’t need the fame
Everybody likes the Interethnic Train

INTERETHNIC TRAIN
The Interethnic Train runs on the railroads of freedom and takes to the world a load of vital energy. On the Interethnic Train nobody needs a ticket and all the passengers are smiling, because there is neither first no second class. The Interethnic Train is a trip undertaken by the human race that, station by station, builds a better world where Peace is not an empty word, but is the meaning of the trip itself. We all are the Interethnic Train. Now.

THE INDIANS - LISTEN TO IT!
The song is a contribution by The Indians to the international movement called “Peace Culture!”, a network founded on the internet with the purpose to promote the culture of peace and human rights in the world. The initiative from which the movement started is the “Peace Kenya! Initiative”, launched in January 2008 after the violent post-electoral crisis in Kenya. The initiative purpose is to inform and to make the international public opinion aware of this crisis and to promote effective action to solve it, involving directly the Kenyan civil society itself.
